Vitamin D deficiency is a widespread global epidemic. It can result from various factors, including insufficient sun exposure, inadequate dietary intake, malabsorption issues, or problems with the liver or kidneys. Symptoms can include fatigue, bone pain, muscle weakness, and even mood changes, though many people are asymptomatic.

Optimal Levels of Vitamin D help to:

However, many experience that orally ingesting high doses of Vit D actually further depletes their levels instead of improving it. This is because the body is neither able to process nor absorb it. SVA does not recommend taking Vit D orally – unless your doctor has prescribed it – as everything you swallow has to be processed by the liver and the digestive system. Vit D is a condensed fatty molecule and this puts additional strain on the digestive organs – specially the liver. This is why Vaidya Mishra developed different Transdermal formulas that when applied to the skin directly travel into the bloodstream, bypassing the liver and digestive organs. This not only supply Vit D safely and effectively, but the formulas also contain a blend of ancient ayurvedic herbs to help support the body in its metabolization of this heavy fatty molecule.

With Vaidya Mishra’s transdermal formulations it is now as easy as rubbing it unto your skin or remembering to use your daily deodorant. Vaidya Mishra made the Vit D Deodorants because our armpits contain fatty hormonal glands that further facilitate the absorption of the Vit D molecules. Apply the cream or the roll-on on the lower arms from the elbows to the wrists – this is an easy area to access. But remember you can apply it anywhere. Use at least one half teaspoon for each application. You can’t overdose when using transdermally as the skin will absorb exactly what it needs. Use twice a day for best results.

Are you vegetarian?

Our bodies make vitamin D when exposed to sunshine. Five to 10 minutes of sun exposure on some or most days of the week to the arms, legs, or back without sunscreen will enable you to make enough of the vitamin. Good food sources of vitamin D include fatty fish (such as tuna, mackerel, and salmon), foods fortified with vitamin D (such as dairy products, soy milk, and cereals), cheese, and egg yolks. Our SVA Vit D products are fully vegetarian – our Vit D is sourced from Sheep Lanolin obtained sustainably and cruelty free.

How Much is Enough? 

The recommended dietary dose of vitamin D is 600 IU each day for adults 70 and younger and 800 IU each day for adults over 70. A daily supplement containing 1,000 to 2,000 IU of vitamin D is likely safe for most people. For adults, the risk of harmful effects increases above 4,000 IU per day.

Our SVA Vitamin D transdermal cream contains 3400 iu (International Units) of Vit D3 per gram. This cream is based on an ancient formula from Vaidya’s family tradition used to treat severe cases of Vit D deficiency. In addition, all the formulas contains herbs and other ingredients that deliver and facilitate the absorption of Vitamin D without exerting a load on the internal organs, especially the liver. So when you use one gram of the SVA transdermal cream, your body will be receiving 3400 IU of Vit D3. For practical purposes, this amount approximately equals to 1/4 tsp. You can use a designated spoon/scooper to get an accurate amount each time you use it.

You may apply this cream and gently rub it on the pulse areas of both wrists. Alternately, you may apply it on your armpits. As explained, the armpits’ area contain fatty glands that can facilitate the absorption of Vit D. This is one of the reasons Vaidya also formulated a deodorant that contains Vit D. 

When you are applying the Shea Butter base cream, be sure to ‘melt’ it by massaging it onto your skin, since it has a thicker consistency. 

Measuring the exact dosage of the Vit D roll-on, in terms of Vit D content, is a little more challenging. We suggest you use the transdermal cream in addition to the deodorant.
