What do you think of Einkorn flour (http://jovialfoods.com/einkorn/)? It is marketed as being the “original” wheat least or not processed. I personally find it much easier to digest — it is so delicious and light, but I wanted to double check with you.
Dear Divya: Eikorn flour is a great flour. It is very healthy, it is tasty, and I personally have adopted it in my diet. What’s even better is if you can get a grain grinder and pulverize the Eikorn into flour in your own home. You will taste the difference even better!
While I love Einkorn flour, I find it a bit challenging to make chapati’s from it…I’ve noticed if I mix in equal ratio of spelt flour (and sometimes barley too), the chapati’s turn out much more manageable.
Vaidya ji, do you have any tips on making pure Einkorn flour roti’s?
Thank you.
What fruits and vegetables are good to eat while breastfeeding? Also after giving birth I noticed my hair started falling a lot even though I still drinking my prenatal vitamins, can you please help? Would it be okay to drink Garcinia Tea while breastfeeding? Thank you very much and God bless you.
I did consume Einkorn Flour often and I found it is very smooth to swallow and can bring me energy refreshment.
Good Evening Vaid Ji, Sir when i drink water or any liquid i feels water enters in my head, ear and chest. Please tell me what is problem in my body.
Please suggest me for chuna.. can i consume chuna?
Dear Doctor,
My daugther got 3rd degree fire burns 45% of body when she was 2. Now she is almost 4. What you can suggest to heal scars and other skin problems?
She had traditional medicine surgery. We are applying ghi and sometimes coconat oil and ashvagandha oil to the skin each day. It is getting softer, but still lots of scars and some contratures present.
An Ayurneda doctor in new jersey prescribed Soma Shaki (1/2 tablet), digest tone triphala plus (1/2 tablet), SVA Ashwagandha Nector Drops+SVA Maha Loha Drops in Fuji water to my wife to treat her B12, iron deficiencies. After 2 days my wife developed severe rashes on both hands and legs that we had to go ER. So we immediately stopped and consulted PCP and PCP put on steroids and after two month she still has rashed on her both hands.
Do you recommend any ointment or other Ayurveda oil of treatment. I will highly appreciate.
Regards
Krishan Arora

Dear Dr.Mishra,
I find your blog has a lot of useful information on different aspects of health. I liked th one esp. about Vegan protein Powder. I do have a question regarding that. Could the protein powder, be used with say banana, if one has sweet tooth?
Thanks.
Jayanthi

To Dr.Mishra:
Namaste to you and your family!
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and expertise in this life-saving venture.
I am just starting your SVA class with Divya at the Bhakti Center in New York. You had a wonderful “virtual” conference on Sun. Sept. 11, 2016. I was able to see and speak with you, but I was a bit tired, so this question did not come to me until today at work where I am typing this.
You say there is prana (energy/life force) in the foods we eat and to preserve that energy, we should cook fresh every day and not have leftovers.I understand this concept and agree with it, but what I was truly wondering about is: how food can have energy or life if it has been removed from where it was growing. Isn’t food considered “dead” once it is plucked, picked, cut, etc. from the original plant, tree, bush, etc? I understand that there is some life there, because if food is kept long enough, it will spoil In addition, we would not be able to survive even though we are eating.
But I was just wondering about this point, if food is truly still “alive”after being separated from its original growing place or is it considered “dead”. Thank you for your time and answer; it is greatly – big emphasis on “greatly” – appreciated! Your servant, Teri (NYC)
Hi Dr. Mishra,
I have a question about the ghee making process mentioned in the shastras.
I have recently been using Mum’s ghee for daily cooking. The fragrance and flavour is the best I’ve ever experienced. However, in solid form the ghee appears to be waxy in texture. I have also used cultured ghee from other sources and the texture is more grainy. Also, traditionally in India a slightly grainy texture of ghee is preferred.
What is the take of the shastras on this? What is the ideal texture of real cultured ghee upon solidifying?
Thanks,
Priyanshu
Great question Teri. Yes, once you pluck or or pick a fruit or vegetable the process of depleting its prana starts. So the sooner you prepare those ingredients
the more prana you have in your meal. There are of course great differences between different edible items – some lose their pranic charge right away, for example leave lettuce out and it wilts within a few hours in the heat, but leave carrots or apples out and it may take a few days for them to totally lose their pranic charge. Garden
picked and consumed is best, otherwise as fresh as possible. Life is an ongoing process, nothing can exist in its perfect state at any time, this is the nature of transient life. It is not a bad thing, it is just how it is. And we do our best to get the pranic charge and definitely avoid left-over or old or pranically dead edibles. Hope this helps. Thank you.
Read my blogs and take my courses. I offer a lot of online courses.
Yes you can use the protein powder with bananas(try to eat only the small ones, they are better for health), or with any other fruits also they go great.
Dear Dr.Mishra,
I’m having partial seizures and I’m looking for natural remedies and techniques to get rid of them forever. So far I only get 3-4 a day and when I get them I can’t speak and if I do my words slur and I feel a fog around my head and it’s hard to feel emotions like numbing. Is there anything that you would recommend me to take or do to get rid of them for good?
Thanks
Omar

Namastè! I read with great sadness of the passing of this great teacher!
My question is Sri Vaidyaji recommended Wheat flour plus kala chana besan dough for Rotis here (you can mix generic wheat with 50% kala chana besan, add some turmeric powder, cumin seeds, make a dough and consume your wheat that way. This bread preparation will have a lower glycemic index. You cannot starve yourself! You need nutrition. With the proper samyog and samskar, you can still eat wheat, with kala chena besan. When you mix in with the chana besan, you are lowering the glycemic index by at least 50%, then making it further easy to digest by adding the spices etc.). Did he recommend the same with Einkorn Rotis? I will be very happy if you let me know so that I can start re-incorporating Rotis in our diet! Thanks!
