It’s officially Autumn, and if you are experiencing increased stress and mental activity, accompanied by sometimes high sometimes low appetite, and cravings for both sweet as well as spicy and crunchy – then no worries, we are all on the same boat! In Autumn, our physical channels (srotas) shrink, and if we don’t do a seasonal detox to pacify our doshas, excess heat from the summer may get trapped in, further aggravating vata and pitta dosha-s. Hence the cravings! And poor digestion and assimilation. When our doshas go off, it’s easier to catch the seasonal cold. So it’s important to stay on top of things but going to bed by 9:45pm, eating light warm easy to digest meals, eating less sweet food items – favor fresh fruits over baked goods etc. And then try Vaidya Mishra’s delicious Garcinia Masala and Garcinia Tea blends, as well as his chutneys, to help pacify your cravings without causing further imbalance. SVA COMMUNITY NEWS

… NEAR & FAR …

Navaratri just concluded on Wednesday October 5 – an annual autumn festival that celebrates the cosmic creative energy of Shakti. During Navaratri, Shakti is re-enlivened in women (and men), through the recitation of vedic verses, and offerings into a ritual fire. Vaidya Mishra’s ayurvedic teachings always encompassed Shakti in all her aspects – whether it was in his explanations of the cosmic guna-s, or the action of herbs, or the balancing of our human physiologies. On the occasion of this Navaratri, and in loving memory of our guru, we would like to showcase 2 powerful shakties in the field – in vedic culture the terms is used interchangeably for women.

Vaidya’s legacy is not only alive but thriving! Many of his students and followers are leading beautiful healing work in their communities. This week we showcase 2 star students of Vaidya Mishra, who are leading the field through their offerings. Scroll down to read more.

Hello,

My name is Marie Amram. My Ayurveda nutrition & wellness coaching practice is based in Ottawa, Canada, however online consultations are accessible from any country.

I grew up near beautiful beaches in a small fishing village in Brittany, France, under gorgeous blue skies and majestic grey clouds.

How I came to S.V. Ayurveda

My journey with Ayurveda started as a marma & ayurvedic spa therapist. After I personally experienced a severe burnout and debilitating heartburn, I realized how critical gut and digestive issues are to our overall health.

While I studied with Vaidya Rama K. Mishra and trained as a nutrition & wellness educator, I also worked on my own recovery. A graduate of the Ayurveda Nutrition and Culinary Training Foundation Program (ANACT) at Baghavat Life Culinary School in New York, I now share with my clients the transformative effects that a balanced diet and lifestyle can have.

My Practice

In the course of my personal healing and learning journey, I experienced first-hand the balancing power of S.V. Ayurveda over inflammatory conditions that most of us commonly suffer from. To this day, the wholesome recipes I continually develop based on S.V. Ayurveda guidelines are still supporting me and helping my clients as well.

Connecting with others and sharing what I’ve learned from my own experience has become a passion and it is the mission of my practice.

My practice offers client-centered services that go beyond the typical “herb-for-symptoms” approach. The focus is on my clients’ needs and on empowering them with the understanding of their individual constitution and with mastering the selection and preparation of delicious restorative meals… with their gut in mind.
