Vegan Protein Dumplings for Detox and Daily Nourishment – All 10% Off
It’s Springtime! Ayurvedically speaking, it’s “detox-time!” But did you know that detox does NOT necessarily mean, nor does it have to involve: flushing, releasing, and/or cleansing… Do you know what’s the basic most foundational step that Vaidya Mishra emphasized over and over again? The first step for any cleanse or detox is to first stop the input ingestion of new toxic substances.
How to know what and how and which? What’s the one harmless thing you do everyday that becomes the foundation of harmful toxic overload? Yes: you guessed: FOOD! We make the most toxins through food! Because our bodies survive and thrive on food. And when we eat “toxic” food – “dumb or “dead” as Vaidya Mishra used to say – then we set up a foundation for deeper harmful toxicity. Revisiting your diet and making some changes is the first most important thing you can do if you are considering detox this Spring. For example, swapping bread and aged cheeses with homemade crackers, or lighter forms of fresh protein. Or making sure your dinners are light, and lunch is the main meal of the day… SV Ayurveda can help you make all these changes easy and breezy! Vaidya Mishra gave us wonderful ready to use detox recipes, teas, soups, rice and protein mixes too! Adding Karela soup mix powder to your food, or Moringa tea to your daily protocols, instead of high-sugar Macha Latte or ice-cold drinks can make a huge difference. But it is all so very delicious as well!
Most important thing to remember is: it’s a process! Nothing is a one-time-done deal. Detoxing is a slow and steady self-care protocol, where you wake up to the needs of this highly complex and intelligent physiology that carries you daily. You resolve to address its needs and care for it ayurvedically, so it can continue to carry you through your adventures in the world.
Here is a quick delicious soup recipe you can try with any of the kitchdi-s protein dumplings (vadi-s) and vegetables.
Food is your foundational basis for detox and health. But doing a full proper Spring Detox is also a game changer. Provided it is done right and safely! Read Dr Teitelbaum’s article below to find out more!
Do Not
Detox, Unless…
~ Dr Marianne Teitelbaum
It’s time for your spring cleanse!
Through the winter months, the cold weather shrunk down all your body’s physical channels – the channels that carry out toxins through the bowel, urine and sweat were sluggish, leading to a backup of toxins. But as the weather starts to warm up, the channels naturally dilate, and there are lots of toxins which the body is keen on discharging. Doing detox in the Springtime is the best thing anyone could and should do!
When people think of detoxifying, they are usually considering a liver cleanse. And that is not a bad idea; however, what they don’t know is that there are other areas that also need to be cleansed. And here is what most people don’t know: the protocol will be different for each person based on many factors.
For example:
some people who work around chemicals need to clean the blood and brain;
those on the birth control pill need to clean all the fat cells from this highly toxic fat-soluble toxins in synthetic meds;
others need to clean the bone marrow;
some might need to clean the muscle – especially in cases of fibromyalgia;
yet others: the bone tissue, where heavy metals -including fluoride – tend to accumulate;
most of us need to scrub the gut of old fecal material;
or cool off and purify the blood plasma and blood…
if digestion is in any way impaired, we would then need to address the lymphatic system and fluids…
So you get the idea: there are many more specific variations and protocols when it comes to seasons Spring cleansing. It is NOT a one-size-fits-all….

A delicious blend of ayurvedic spices, formulated to energize you through improved circulation. Drink it first thing in the morning, or any time during the day, to help support detox in the Spring, by opening and rejuvenating your physical channels. It will also help energize you mentally by improving overall circulation and supply of oxygen to the brain as well as the extremities – arms and legs.
Dr Teitelbaum’s article continued:
But most important thing is: before you cleanse you have to prepare and lubricate the body’s physical channels so they can handle these “nasty toxins” when they are given the opportunity to exit.
And key is to chip away slowly at the toxins… One should not do a big hurried flush in a 1-2 week program. If too many toxins come pouring out, there could be irreversible damage. For one, you could rupture the physical channels. If that happens, you’re in really big trouble as the toxins are now free-to-roam all over your body unhindered, and can get relocated in any organ or organ system or tissue.
And finally, a crucial point Vaidya Mishra always emphasized is: when you cleanse, you have to make sure you bind the toxins and move them to the intestines and escort them out into the urine to keep them away from the skin, which could cause aggressive rashes and worsening skin problems.
The key is to remember that it’s not hard to remove the toxins! The real bigger problem is that it is actually easy to remove them, but if you don’t do it in a systematic way, and very carefully, you may not only run into trouble, but you can create serious unnecessary chronic conditions.
Bottom line: let your Ayurvedic physician guide you carefully through the process. They have spent years taking studying the detox process. The toxins people are harboring today are much more dangerous than 3,000 years ago when the ancient ayurvedic textbooks were written. That is one reason why Vaidya Mishra made not only made modifications to the classical detox processes, but restored crucial steps and added additional modules and details to home-detox protocols and recipes.
