Guduchi is Amrita
~ Bestower of Immortality ~
Nature loves to play! Through her incomparable creativity and imagination, she uses the basic set of creational elements that
the vedic Shastras call “Guna” to bring
forward hundreds of thousands of
variations and possibilities. With her
keen sense of beauty, and humor,
she unleashes her playfulness through
colors, shapes, sounds, unfolding a
wondrous creation! We may boast of our 21st century
technological scientific achievements and discoveries, but we are just barely getting to know the basics of life. Did you know that for every identified species on earth, there are 4 more that have yet to be discovered? What’s more, in this playful multiplicity, each one of Nature’s creations is as good as the other. Each one fulfills its own unique purpose in the bigger scheme of things, aiding in the maintenance and promulgation of the entire environment. None is better than the other or competes with the other… Mother Nature always creates a win/win situation for ALL…
There are, however, some exceptions to the rule! Based on their internal make-up or Guna constitution, some species of animals or plants are more pro-life or evolution, while others may have slightly different counter-evolutionary agendas that operate through delay tactics! Some species are more user-friendly, so to speak, while others may cause unduly delay and stress. So
how do we know to classify all these based on their supportive or destructive nature? The knowledge is so vast, and the criteria so subtle and complex, that most of it cannot be discerned by our microscopes or fancy scanners, not to mention any AI enhanced technoloyg. Luckily, as the ayurvedic story goes, a group of highly evolved humans who lived several thousands of years ago already took the time to do this for us. And the great part is, we can now confirm some of their findings with our modern technology. Such for example is a very special plant that goes by the name of Guduchi (Tinospora Cordifolia). Also called “giloy” in Hindi.
Amidst all the plants available to humans, Guduchi, was called
“Amrita” – bestower of eternal life – by the ancient seers. A native climber of North and South India, it is now increasingly gaining favor as a medicinal herb amongst scientists. Long touted as a powerful and divine herb throughout the alternative history of Ayurvedic healing, modern research is coming to recognize its unprecedented benefits through a number of research studies.
This plant has origins of mythical dimension. It is told in India’s most ancient epic tale of cosmogenesis, The Ramayana, that guduchi became a plant on earth when Lord Indra sprinkled amrit (nectar of immortality) from heaven. After the war with Ravana, Lord Rama prayed to Indra, the custodian of Amrit, requesting he bring back to life all the monkeys and bears that had fought by his side and died during the battles. Indra granted this wish and sprinkled the nectar from heaven. Wherever a drop landed on a dead monkey or bear, it came back to life. Wherever it landed on the earth, it sprouted into a guduchi plant.
The healing properties of guduchi are nearly endless. It is the best rasayana (rejuvenative) known in Ayurveda. As Vaidya Mishra’s SVA lineage explains, it is the only plant that can bind both amavisha (internal toxins) and garavisha (external toxins) and reestablish the intelligence of the body by repairing local damage caused by the toxins.
Vaidya Mishra further taught that Guduchi is full of Soma (nature’s cooling, nurturing lunar vibration) and helps to rebuild the dhatus (tissues) if/when they become low. Guduchi helps to clean the flame of the heart (vakshagni) so that it can handle any emotional challenges that may come its way.
Guduchi has all the properties of amritam, a rejuvenating and strengthening nectar. It is considered to be one of the most effective rasayanas / rejuvenative that may help to rid the body of deep rooted imbalances. In fact, it is so full of life and receptive to vibrational energy, guduchi can grow without any soil or water.
All parts of this plant, stems, roots, and leaves have been used for thousands of year in Ayurvedic medicine. The plant itself is considered beneficial for all 3 doshas or body types based on Ayurveda. The list of benefits of this special plant are innumerable, but here is a brief list of the most desirable scientifically confirmed properties.
Top 20 benefits backed up by recent scientific research findings:

Choosing Your Guduchi:
The high demand for guduchi has led to the proliferation of adulterated guduchi supplements on the market in varying qualities. You think you may be purchasing a good product, but to be certain, below is a list of a few things to consider and research before making your choice about where to purchase this divine herb:
Make sure no chemicals were used at ANY stage of the extraction or preservation process to ensure that its properties and qualities are kept intact.
Investigate how the guduchi was grown, harvested, stored, and transported.
Consider your own personal health condition; consult with your SVA expert or practitioner to help you make an informed decision for your individual constitution and current imbalances
Make sure you know the benefits as well as the cautionary effects
Analyze your diet and lifestyle; a good diet should be established for some time and the body fairly balanced before using guduchi to release the deeper toxins from the liver and other tissues.
Consider the forms in which you can consume guduchi and which is the most effective for your situation; teas, capsules, tablets, drops etc.
Chandika.com – home of Vaidya Mishra’s cutting edge ayurvedic alternative delivery formulations – carries a line of guduchi products that not only offer the purest formulations of Guduchi using the best collecting and processing procedures, but formulations that take into consideration the divine nature of this beautiful herb. The SVA team has taken the utmost care to preserve the original pranic vibration of guduchi during the process. Here is a list of your options if you are thinking about adding guduchi to your daily diet:
SVA Guduchi Herbal Memory Nectar: captures the micro-molecular intelligence of this pranic herb and delivers it to the most subtle levels of your physiology. The result is higher efficacy, faster delivery, and safety from detox.
SVA Immuno-Correct Tablets: reestablishes the intelligence of tissues and organ systems
SVA Immuno-Support Tablets and Herbal Memory Nectar: to support your physiology and its immunity and protect it against seasonal colds and imbalances.
SVA Geni-Support Tablets: genito-urinary tract support
SVA Liver Pro Tablets: support the liver’s functioning, and re-establish its intelligence
SVA Gluco-Support Tablets: help with the metabolism of sugar
Guduchi helps clean the liver without heating it. In fact, guduchi is able to detoxify the tissues all the way to shukra dhatu (the last tissue in the chain of transformation, and the most subtle tissue in the body, the reproductive tissue).
You can learn in detail about these and many other properties of guduchi in a downloadable lecture by Vaidya Mishra. In this 31 minute talk, Vaidya translates word for word from the Sanskrit text Bhava Prakash about guduchi.
You can put this and many other herb lectures on your iPod for just 99¢ here:
Guduchi – Learn About The Most Divine Herb in Ayurveda. The audio file comes with an accompanying PDF with the text Vaidya Mishra is translating so you can follow along.
Cautionary Effects of Guduchi:
Guduchi may lower blood sugar levels, therefore diabetic patients are advised to use it with caution under the supervision of the medical physician.
Avoid taking guduchi during pregnancy and breastfeeding Large doses may cause nausea.
Since it is considered a highly effective detoxifying herb, in particular for the liver, guduchi should be administered with proper preparation. Otherwise, improper use can lead to a detox crisis. 7
Cautions for Using Guduchi
You have to be careful when using guduchi. It is a powerful herb that can easily cause a detox crisis if it is not used with care. This is especially true when using the tablets. The physical herb will have a direct effect on the more gross physical dimension of the body triggering an accelerated detox. Toxins that are being evacuated need proper transportation pathways leading out so as not to 7
contaminate the physiology on their way out through toxic fumes or acidic residues. Once toxins are released in the body, there is no putting them back. Toxins travel through designated channels that have to be healthy to bear the load of the detox process, otherwise they may rupture those channels and flow over into neighboring organs, organ systems, tissues, causing further damage.
If diet is not proper and if there is no preparation of the channels before using it, it can at best be ineffective and at worst do more harm than good. The body must be properly prepared to handle the detoxifying property of guduchi.
There seems to be no relief for the modern liver. The sheer amount of toxins that the body has to deal with—generated both internally (emotional and digestive toxins) and externally (chemicals and EMF) is staggering.
When a detoxifying herb like guduchi is given to someone with an overload of toxins in the liver, or an overload of toxins in other deep tissues of the body, it can draw them out very quickly. The old toxins begin to come out of the liver and the deep tissues, and it may be too much for the body to eliminate.
There must not be any constipation in the body, which would prevent the toxins from getting out when they reach the colon. The channels in the body should be alkaline so that they can buffer the acidic toxins coming out.
Also, the digestion must be strong enough to fully digest the crude herb found in these tablets. And the liver must be clean enough to metabolize the herb without killing the vibrational energy of the herb.
Always use this herb under the direct supervision of a Shaka Vansya Ayurveda practitioner. Your practitioner may recommend theGuduchi Herbal Memory Nectar formulation because it is a safer way to deliver the properties of guduchi when the liver is full of toxins without causing a detox crisis.

Discover a Full Line of Hand & Body Lotions – 10% Off This Week
Are you looking for the perfect tridoshic lotion for the Springtime? Look no further! Vaidya Mishra’s Tridoshic Lotion is all you will need. Why? With seasonal changes, our doshic imbalances shift to reflect the new temperature conditions. In the Winter time, vyana vata, bhrajak pitta, and shleshak kapha go high. This impacts our skin in different ways.
Vata
Vyana vata gets aggravated in the winter time due to 2 reasons:
our physical circulatory channels shrink due to the cold weather, and end up getting blocked. When they get blocked, moisture and the shleshak kapha in our cells is unable to move. When shleshak kapha is not free to circulate it cannot complete its task of lubricating the body;
drying cold wind creates even more dryness externally, killing the friendly bacteria that live on the skin, further depleting our skin, and bringing about premature wrinkling and sagging.
In this Tridoshic lotion, Vaidya uses many aromatic channel opening essential oils, such as: Peppermint; Camphor; Ajwain; Sage; Rosemary. These help dilate the circulatory channels, so the Shleshaka can move freely through. In addition, Vaidya uses Aloe and Vegetable glycerin to further moisturize the body from within, without clogging the channels. These ingredients help keep vyana vata in check. When Spring arrives and the channels start to dilate, this lotion supports the nourishment and resetting of the skin. And it also helps pacify Bhrajak pitta flare-ups that some may suddenly experience….
Pitta
Bhrajak pitta gets aggravated in the cold weather, particularly for pitta type predominant people, because the circulation of heat also gets obstructed due to the shrunk channels. Due to the blocked or poor circulation, their skin becomes more sensitive to the sun. This is further aggravated by the lack of shleshak kapha, which is also slowed down or blocked due to lack of circulation. Vaidya has added lemon to his lotion to help reduce photosensitivity to help with pitta sensitive skin. In addition, the Aloe, Vegetable glycerin, and the Neem, all 3 together, help pacify and nourish bhrajak pitta. But in addition, this lotion will help balance Shleshak Kapha as well…
Kapha
Shleshak kapha gets blocked and accumulated due to shrunk channels. In order to be balanced, it needs plants and herbs with agneya, or warming, prabhava, – ultimate action. Vaidya has added Holy Basil, whose mildly warming properties, along with Peppermint, Rosemary, Calendula, and Citronella, relax our channels to let the shleshak kapha flow through and moisturize and lubricate our channels.
The overall, in-depth cellular nurturing effect and efficacy of this balanced tridoshic lotion helps with long term use. This lotion will get absorbed fast into your skin, traveling deep into your cells, and it will retain, supplying moisture and hydration leaving you with a supple smooth skin. Regular use of the lotion will also help support the immune system of your skin, nourishing all the friendly bacteria by supplying them with prebiotic – Aloe and Vegetable glycerin support their growth. In addition, many of the essential oils used in the formula have scientific research showing their anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, which makes this lotion great to use on your feet, to help prevent local fungal infections, as well as keep your hands sanitized when you are out and about in the world during “flu season!” Keep the bad bacteria at bay and
harness the power of the friendly bacteria for youthful skin! Enjoy the fresh scent of the flowers and aromatic leaves, with accents of citronella and lemongrass!
Ingredients: “Total Tridoshic Lotion Herbal Synergy” (Vaidya Mishra’s proprietary blend), with Neem (Azadirachta indica), Oregano (Origanum vulgare), Peppermint (Mentha pepperita), Camphor, Holy basil (Ocimum basilicum), Ajwain (Trachyspermum ammi), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Calendula, Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus), Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), Sage (Salvia officinalis), Organic aloe (Aloe vera), and Emulsifying wax, with vegetable stearic acid, in a kosher vegetable glycerine base.
Directions:
Apply on hands and feet, and all over the body as and when needed. Avoid sensitive areas. Use daily to see cumulative benefits for the skin.
Spend an evening with “those in the know!”

Lalita's Facial Skin Care Line – 15% Off This Week
Did you know that Lalita’s Skincare line was formulated by Vaidya Mishra using guidelines from the ancient Vedic texts, the teachings of SVA, and traditional beauty recipes? The ingredients support, nourish and enhance outer and inner beauty, promote luster, and slow the aging process. The blends are chemical and preservative FREE and therefore do not disturb the vibrational potency of the herbs – also know as their “prabhava.” The herbal ingredients provide a rasayana or rejuvenating effect and enhance the coordination between our mental functions thus delivering a positive effect to our gunam or inner beauty. All of the materials and methods that Vaidya Mishra used are meant to enhance our skin’s cellular beauty as well as our spiritual beauty, strengthening our mind-body-soul connection.
This Mother’s Day, give your mom the best that Ayurveda can offer: a unique skin-care line made with fresh flowers, herbs, and oils full of prana, formulated according to time-less SVA techniques. She will thank you for it!
Three bio-chemical categories made up of the 5 elements of nature (fire, water, earth, air and space), known as “doshas” run our bodies, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each individual carries a unique signature mixture of these three categories. And each individual’s skin is also unique based on their doshic make-up. Each of these has an additional 5 sub-categories.
The skin is governed by 3 sub-categories or sub-doshas: Pachak Pitta; Vyana Vata; and Shleshak Kapha. Individuals who are more Pitta by nature, who carry more fire in their biochemical constitution, tend to have a more active bhrajak pitta subhdosha. In other terms, their skin tends to be more sensitive to developing rashes and imbalances due to heat, overexposure to sunshine, or it can also be triggered by spicy food, emotional challenges as well as mental stress. In addition, because Pitta skin tends to be more prone to acidity, and acidity induces inflammation and kills the friendly bacteria of the skin, Pitta individuals need specific skin care addressing their highly sensitive constitution. For this group of people who tend to have more sensitive skin, Ayurveda offers specific help with Pearl Bhasma.
Pearl bhasma is highly somagenic and cooling because when the macromolecules of pearl (bhasma) combine with the proper yogvahi, or carrier, the soothing benefits of the pearl will penetrate up to the 4th layer of the skin. The herbal synergy of essential oils that Vaidya uses in his creams are meant as intelligent yogvahis. In this situation, bhrajak pitta gets pacified up to the 4th layer, offering inside-out relief.
The micro-molecules of the pearl bhasma are highly alkalizing for the deeper levels of the skin. Long-term use of the Pearl bhasma cream helps create a good environment for the friendly bacteria of the skin, and helps to fight against inflammation created by any external or internal factors. In particular, pearl bhasma with rose is great for somebody going through emotional challenges or someone emotionally sensitive in general. Rose is known for its great property for sadhak pitta pacification, while Jasmine helps unify all the layers of the skin which get separated due to acid induced inflammatory situations.
Vaidya’s facial cream contains that contain Pearl Bhasma are specially formulated for high-pitta skin types that need deeper cooling and deeper nourishment for their skin. Pearl Bhasma is the best for such skin conditions, because it’s highly Somagenic – very rich in the cooling, nurturing, replenishing vibrational energy of the Moon. Pearl Bhasma is also firming for the skin. You can now chose between a facial cream that carries Natural Pearl Bhasma with Rose, or Natural Pearl Bhasma with Jasmine. Or, you can try them both!
Why Pearl Bhamsa with Rose?
Do you know why emotional stress directly impacts the glow and health of your skin? When your emotions are on the rocks, your sadhak pitta and sadhak agni go off. This impacts all your other pitta subdoshas, stripping your skin of its luster, and slowing down its healthy metabolism. If you are under constant emotional stress, and your skin looks dull and flaky, no external application will help unless it address the heart of the matter, your emotions. Unless, that is, you use a prana-infused cream that contains Rose! Transdermal Rose can uplift the emotions by balancing sadhak pitta and sadhak agni right away– the sub- doshas and the flame that govern the emotional heart. Rose strengthens the emotional heart so it can better handle emotional challenges. Not only does rose pacify sadhak pitta – even as it balances sadhak agni – it also carries a “somnasya jana” or bliss-enhancing property. All sub-doshas are inter-connected. Any of Vaidya’s creams can be custom-ordered containing 100% pure and organic Rose Absolute. If you are experiencing emotional challenges right now, then you should go with the Rose Aroma.
But Rose also carries additional amazing properties confirming it as the Queen of flowers in the plant kingdom! Did you know that Rose is also known for its “vajikarna” properties? It supports the hormones and is a wonderful additional to any romantic setting – making it a Valentine Day’s favorite. But rose is also beneficial for individuals who experience heat or burning sensations in their limbs or their body overall. Regular transdermal use of rose cleans the sweat inside-out, neutralizing its pH, so that when it is released through the skin, it does not cause irritation. Rose in your facial cream can be especially beneficial if you are a vata or pitta or a mixture of both in terms of your overall constitution and particularly in terms of your skin type.
